The Pop Culture President

President Obama is the Pop Culture President. Laughing with David Letterman and partying with Beyonce and Jay-Z while Americans are killed and Embassies are overrun

The day following President Obama's big visit to New York I watched the highlights of his interview with late night talkshow host and Obama supporter David Letterman. Two responses by the Celebrity-in-Chief were absolutely stunning, both in regards to debt. First, the President responded to a question that he did not know what the National Debt was when took office. Really? It didnt dawn on the President of the United States to assess where the debt of the nation was?

The second absolutely flabergasting statement from President Obama was that there is no short term ill-effects from these massive deficits he is creating. The President did acknowledge medium and long term economic damage by these deficits. The President declined to define "short term."

I beg to differ, Mr. President. First, the U.S. Government currently borrows over $3.5 BILLION A DAY to cover the deficits of the Obama Administration. Dollars are a finite commodity, if the government is borrowing more that leaves less for the rest of us. That is $3.5 Billion a day less to be loaned to samll business to expand and hire workers. That is $3.5 billion a day less to loan struggling homeowners with their mortgages.

Second, the larger the deficits, the larger the ineterest payment on the overall debt is in this year's budget. In FY2012, the Federal Government will pay a whopping $12 BILLION in interest on new and existing debt. That is $12 billion less to a variety of programs, or tax relief, reader's choice. Instead Mr. Obama will send much of that money to China and other foreign entities who hold our debt.

The short term damage to our economy is real, despite what President Obama told a friendly host and audience. President Obama knows better and is trying to paint far too rosy a picture regarding the debt to blunt political ramifications. Disingenious to say the least.

After accepting the cult like adoration from Letterman and his audience, the Celebrity-in-Chief went to a $40,000 a person fundraiser hosted by Beyonce and Jay-Z. There, President Obama railed about Mitt Romney's wealth. Romney released his tax returns and earns far less than either Beyonce or Jay-Z, but I digress.

President Obama went on about with his War on Success rhetoric. In this he is geniune since he experiences so little success. Again, I digress.

Who are these people who can pay $40,000 a person for these fundraisers? Obama has had nearly 200 this year with a minimum price tag of $25,000 a person. Hollywood types, George Clooney, Steven Spielberg, Herself (Oprah), Sarah Jessica Parker, and others have hosted five figure funders for The One as Oprah calls Him.

Israel is currently banging the war drums that they are nearing an attack on Iran to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, the US Embassy in Egypt was attacked, the American Ambassador to Libya was tortured and murdered, Iran is sponsoring terrorism, al-Qaeda stormed the US Embassy in Tunisia and raised their flag over our embassy, and the President chooses to spend his time in NYC with his adoring fellow celebrities.

Following these horrific events in the Middle East, and more devasting economic news at home, the Obama Campaign unveiled a new gimmick to show support. They want supporters to write on their hands a one or two word message why they are supporting President Obama and tweet under the hashtag #ForAll. Is this a Middle School Student Body election?

Great, tyranny is again on the march, economic woes are growing and our leader is partying like a rockstar and running a campaign aimed at 13 year olds. Serious times call for serious people. I never thought the day would come I would agree with Bill Clinton, who refers to President Obama as "The Amateur."

I really wish Hillary won those primaries now.
