TUESDAY

The public got its first taste Monday night of Ken Brucki, a veteran firefighter and teacher, when he was sworn in as the new Orland Fire Protection District fire chief.

PAWS Animal Shelter in Tinley Park is on the prowl for homes for five puppies that won't be small for long. At around 3 months old, they are already tipping the scales at about 30 pounds.

WEDNESDAY

This September marks the two-year anniversary of the shooting death of an Orland Park mother and teacher. Her husband, Allan Kustok, has remained in custody ever since.

Police found an Orland Park man unloading a van full of items stolen from area homes, including an American flag.
