TUESDAY

Dennis Dodson, a homeless man, remains in Cook County jail. He's accused of attacking an elderly Orland Park woman who tried to help him find shelter.

Two women said goodbye to their locks, in the name of a good cause—the fight against cancer.

WEDNESDAY

Residents, teachers, parents, kids and other Orland School District 135 supporters crowded the administration building entrance, as teacher contract negotiations resumed Wednesday night.

An attorney for the Orland Fire Protection District said performance led to Joanne Chavez-Buchanan losing her position, but at the time Board President James Hickey said the firing was a cost saving measure.

THURSDAY

After about 21 hours of negotiating ended Thursday afternoon, both sides agreed to a contract, though details of the deal have not been disclosed.

Litigation against the district that could cost over $100,000 will continue.

FRIDAY

Cigar lounge owners are looking for a restraining order to stay open while the lawsuit goes through court.
