THURSDAY

Two men claimed to be roofers and offered to work on an elderly woman’s house before one stole cash and jewelry while she was distracted, and they both fled the area Thursday afternoon.

A complaint filed with the state election board claims that Fiscal Voices for Orland did not file a payment or in-kind contribution record for a third robocall. FVO says that’s because someone else paid for the call, and it has nothing to do with them.

FRIDAY

The Chicago Tribune reported that the driver died early Friday morning after a crash near Wolf Road and 175th Street in Orland Park.

Acting Chief Raymond Kay reported to the Orland Fire Protection District board that firefighters are taking about 15 seconds less to respond to emergency calls than in February 2011.

SATURDAY
