Free Tax Return Preparation

Do you need help getting your taxes ready?  The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program is offering FREE income tax preparation for those individuals and families that earn up to $51,000 per year.  The Will County Low Income Tax Assistance Coalition (LITAC) is a sponsor of four VITA sites in Will County and they are offering their help with FREE federal and state income tax return preparation, as well as FREE electronic filing.

If interested, do not forget to bring the following: all income forms, information for the other forms of income, statements from colleges or universities if attended in 2012, proof of accounts for direct deposit of refund, Social Security cards of individual Taxpayer Identification Notices/cards for you, your spouse and all dependents, photo IDs for yourself and/or spouse, total amount paid to daycare provider and their tax ID number, birth dates for you, your spouse and any dependents.  If you are a homeowner, please bring the most recent property tax bill, and if possible, a copy of last year's tax return.  Also, if you are filing a joint return, both spouses must be present.  For inquiries, call (815)-727-3683.
