Python Game Programming for Teens (Register now, Starts June 9)

U.S. News & World Report, in their rankings of “The 25 Best Jobs of 2012,” ranked five computer related careers in the top nine: Software Developer (#2), Database Administrator (#5), Web Developer (#6), Computer Systems Analyst (#7), and Computer Programmer (#9). Courses in the Teen Programming Series provide teenagers with a valuable introduction to the skills and concepts utilized in these career areas. Each course guides students to create useful and entertaining software applications.

Python Game Programming for Teens: Python is a general-purpose, high-level, object-oriented programming language that is ranked #8 in worldwide popularity according to the TIOBE Programming Community Index. Python has been used to build numerous games, including titles like: Civilization IV, Battlefield 2, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, Jewel Quest 5, and many more. Students in this course will learn how to craft 2D games. No textbook is required, but students should bring a 4GB+ USB thumb drive. Software for the course will be provided for free and can be used at home. Ages 13-19.

Wednesday, June 9 and Tuesday June 10, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Moraine Valley Community College.
