Squeeze Box: "A Mighty Squeeze" By Jimmy Keane & John Williams
Jimmy Keane of Orland Park is a world-famous player of the accordion, the musical instrument made famous (and infamous) in the song "Squeeze Box" by the rock group "The Who" exactly 38 years ago. Jimmy presents "A Mighty Squeeze" with his accordion collaborator John Williams this Saturday night.
The official descriptive title is: "A Mighty Squeeze, John Williams & Jimmy Keane, A musical collaboration of two five-time All-Ireland Champion master accordionists celebrating the traditional music of Ireland in concert."
Jimmy Keane has performed with many artists including Liz Carroll and Michael Flatley and he founded the group "bohola" with Pat Broaders. Jimmy was named "Male Musician of the Year" by Irish American News in 2010, and in 2011 he was named "Male Musician of the Decade" by Live Ireland and Irish American News.
John Williams has performed with many artists including Mavis Staples and The Chieftains and his group "Solas" has earned a grammy-nomination. John was in the 2002 movie "The Road To Perdition" as a bandleader, composer, and music consultant. John was selected in 2003 as one of the finest instrumentalists by Chicago Magazine.
