Pre-schoolers
just love music! They love to sing, dance, play instruments and read stories.
While they are doing these activities that they think are just about fun, wise
parents, grandparents, and music educators know that these activities do so
much more: they promote the child's natural sense of curiosity which promotes
lifelong learning, instill a love of music and fun through musical activities,
and provide the child with the skills such as keeping a steady beat and pitch
development.
Like minded
parents and grandparents also enjoy meeting other people who are all about
discovering ways for their young children to interact musically and
socially with their community.

That is what
the Music in the Box curriculum and The Music Connection are all about.
Director
Janet Kuester explains, "The Music in the Box curriculum was designed
by two Montessori moms who were also educators and Suzuki piano student
parents. They realized it is never too early to begin the exciting adventure of
making music."

She continued,
“The Music in the Box classes are designed to fit the family budget, while
providing a quality weekly music class
for the mom who would like to make music education a priority in her children’s
lives.”
Music in the
Box has 6 curriculums sure to delight such as ‘Dinosaurs Went Marching.’ “The children just love all the dinosaur
stories and songs," said teacher Gretel Mink Hansen.
Class
offerings for Fall are Tuesdays from 9:00-9:30AM ; 9:30AM-10AM, or
10:00-10:30AM in Orland Park. Pajama class in Frankfort is on Wednesdays from
6:30-7:00PM. Classes are $20 per month per child. Because there has been a
growing demand for these classes, additional classes may be added in
October. Ideal ages are 0 to 5 years old. Parent or
caregiver must attend with the child. Sign up dates are posted through
December of 2013. Classes begin Tuesday,
September 3 in Orland and Wednesday September 4 in Frankfort.
