"The Very Hungry Caterpillar Pop-Up Event"

Kohl Children’s Museum is celebrating the 45th
birthday of Eric Carle's beloved masterpiece "The
Very Hungry Caterpillar"
 with
friends from Chicago Children's Theatre. Join Kohl Children’s Museum for a day
of insect-spotting as kids are invited to make dozens of delightful
caterpillars!

Visitors will be greeted with a giant colorful
Carle-style chalk caterpillar created by a local artist on the Museum’s entry
pavilion. Then, kids can grab their own sidewalk chalk and stake out a section
of pavement in the outdoor Habitat
Park
 exhibit to draw a
caterpillar of their own (weather permitting). Kids can also dye and cut tissue
paper in true Eric Carle fashion to explore a fun new medium to create their
own caterpillar-inspired artworks.

Representatives from Chicago Children's Theatre
will be on hand to provide information about their upcoming performances of THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR AND
OTHER ERIC CARLE FAVORITES
, on April 25 & 26 at the North Shore Center
for Performing Arts in Skokie. Guests and visitors to Kohl Children's Museum
will have the opportunity to purchase advance tickets for these shows today
only for a
30% discount!
