How to Help the Orland Park Family Who Lost Everything in Fire

The community is rallying around Orland Park residents Caren and Meade Mossman, and their four children, whose possessions were lost in a fire Wednesday.

An Orland Park family was unharmed, but lost all of their possessions in a house fire Wednesday—and the community is stepping up to help.

Caren and Meade Mossman are longtime residents of Orland Park, and their children Shane, Laura, Dylan and Jaden attended Orland Park grammar schools and Carl Sandburg High School.

The family has been involved in a slew of activities, including orchestra, sports, scouts, school and community organizations.

Friends have started a GoFundMe campaign to drum up financial support. The fire started in the attic, and while quickly contained and extinguished, caused extensive damage to the home and the family's belongings.

"Friends of the family are asking the community to help these wonderful people get back on their feet," reads a GoFundMe campaign in their honor. "Please give whatever you can."
