UPDATED: How You Can Help Tornado Victims While in Orland Park

Supply drives and fundraisers have begun throughout Orland Park and in nearby towns to help tornado victims in Washington, Illinois. Learn how you can lend a hand.

The following businesses, people and organizations have started supply collections to send to Washington, IL, for victims of the tornadoes on Sunday.


Orland Township

Stop by the township administrative offices at 14807 S. Ravinia Ave. with items to be sent to central Illinois throughout the week, except for Thanksgiving Day. Drop items off Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.,  and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Bring new items only.

Jeffrey LaMorte Salon

Stop by the salon at 15194 S. LaGrange Road any time during regular business hours and drop off non-perishable food, toiletries, clothing, batteries and any other supplies available.

Bettenhausen Dodge Chrysler Jeep

The Orland Park car dealer, and its two Tinley Park locations, will be accepting supplies through Wednesday at all three dealerships. Bring cleaning supplies, non-perishable food, bottled war, clothes and toys, and they will be sent through the seven counties in central Illinois hit by the storm.

Locations are 17514 S. Oak Park Ave. and 8355 W. 159th St. in Tinley Park, as well as 15941 S. 94th Ave. in Orland Park.

Parkview Christian Church and the Hodges

The Orland Park church is supporting an effort started by Mokena couple Matt and Yvette Hodges, and several other volunteers from the area, to collect items that will be shipped directly to Washington. The Hodges both were born in Washington and have family and friends affected by the tornadoes.

Donations will be collected in front of Brookhaven Marketplace in Mokena, 19818 S. LaGrange Rd., Thursday through Sunday.

Raise Money for the Hammond-Kaminski Family

Kate Kaminski, a former Orland Park resident who moved to Washington, lost the home she lived in with her husband Ross Hammond and their baby Olivia. An online fundraiser will be up for 10 more days to collect money for the family.

Art Van Furniture

The furniture retailer in Orland Park, along with its other locations, is offering 20 percent off their goods for victims of storm damage.
