About 250 came to a special performance in the library’s lobby in May, where Peter Oprisko and his band performed popular music from 1937, the year the library opened.
Mayor Dan McLaughlin offered his praise before the performance, with his 91-year-old mother along for the event. A resolution put through the Cook County Board of Commissioner by Commissioner Liz Gorman, honoring the library for their continued efforts, was presented as well.
