The famous shootout in Tombstone Arizona, at the OK Corral, will have a tough time holding up to the excitement in Orland Park, last night!.

Sniper defenseman Mark McNicholas, and stubborn goaltender Taylor Dignan, restore law, in a modern day, exciting old fashioned shootout, against the Providence Celtic gang!

Location, and ammo, pucks not bullets, may be the only differences between the famous history making shootout, and the one that took place in a hockey game last night. Certainly, it was not lacking any of the intensity, action, or excitement of it. The Eagles Varsity team remained unbeaten last night, in front of a standing room only, jam packed crowd, at Arctic Ice Arena in Orland Park. Providence High School, another highly predicted contender for state, presented the latest challenge for the Eagles. The game answered to the pre-puck drop hype throughout the local hockey world, with the Eagles pulling off the OT Shootout victory. "This place is rocking," " old time hockey, just like the days of the old barn on Madison Avenue," "look at the desire, and effort of those kids working hard out there," " an epic battle," " glad I didn't miss this one," and " this is just great high school hockey, can't wait to see what state is going to be like this year". These were just a couple of the comments I heard as I talked to people at the game. Truly a tremendous display of great skill, desire, and competition, not to mention, great entertainment. This great battle capped off a very busy weekend for the club. The 3-2 victory for the varsity team, complimented a successful weekend, with victories over Stevenson, and Lincolnway High Schools. The JV team, busy also by beating Stevenson, Nequa Valley, and Waubonsie Valley High Schools. Unfortunately they came up short to Providence, giving them their only loss thus far, this season. The Jv are back in action this Friday night at Arctic Ice Arena vs Bartlett and the Varsity return home to Arctic on Sunday vs Oak Park River Forest. You don't want to miss any of the action. Come out, and root the Eagles on, and their quest for league, and state championships. All exact schedules, and latest information can be found on the Eagles' website at www.eagleshockeyclub.org.
