For the Orland Park commuters with complains after getting on at , or and even , the time has come to let voices be heard.
Metra will lend an ear to the public Thursday, July 19, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., during a South Suburban Cook County strategic plan open house meeting at .
Specifically, the meeting will address the following questions:
- What should Metra's mission be?
- What should Metra's vision for the future be?
- What projects should Metra focus its energies and resources on?
Those who would like to participate, but don't wish to attend the meeting are invited to fill out a survey on Metra's website.

Now the ultimate insult - Metra's management wants us to do their work for them!! Sheesh! Hey Metra - if YOU don't have a clue about your mission (your purpose or reason for existing), your vision (your picture of where you see yourselves in 5- 10 years) - or can't figure out where to focus your resources and energies, then you have no reason being in business and will continue to die the slow, painful death which most of us can see has already started! (Here’s a clue – you exist to provide commuter services to the public to get from one place to another.) Is it that hard to figure out? Another bureaucracy just like state, county, and local government - filled with incompetent political cronies and hacks who couldn’t lead a one-car funeral! So sad.
