Attack Volleyball Team Steps Up for Tournament Win

Players on the Attack 13 Select team knew it would be a challenge to participate in a volleyball tournament meant for athletes a year older than they are, but their teamwork and perseverance paid off. The Orland Park-base team was crowned champion of the January 12 Attack Invitational held at Andrew High School in Tinley Park.

“The girls played great. They beat every 14s team in their pool in two games, then also won their semi-finals match and the championship match in two games,” said Coach Shawn Wendling. “I see great things happening with this team this year.”

The team is also showing promise in the Windy City Power League, hosted by the Great Lakes Region of USA Volleyball. The day before the tournament, Attack 13 Select won all four of its seeding matches in two games each at the Top Flight facility in Elgin.
