Orland Township “Pet-palooza” Schedule of Events Announced

The schedule of events for the second annual Orland Township "Pet-palooza" have been announced. "Pet-palooza" is Saturday, June 16, 2012 from noon to 3 p.m. at 14807 S. Ravinia Avenue.

The schedule of events for Orland Township’s upcoming “Pet-palooza” fundraiser, to be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012 from noon to 3 p.m. at 14807 S. Ravinia Avenue includes the following:

Pet Contest Registration-Noon to 1 p.m.

Pet Games-Noon to 1 p.m.

Vendor and Exhibitor Displays-Noon to 3 p.m.

Rescue, Shelter and Adoption Displays-Noon to 3 p.m.

“Ask-A-Vet” Booth with retired veterinarian, Dr. Adam Morsi-Noon to 3 p.m.

Kids’ Zone (with train rides, a bounce house, pony rides, face painting and tattoos, a 7 element obstacle course, balloon twisting and sculptures by Dee De the Clown, magic, juggling and stilt walking by David Fleming) -Noon to 3 p.m.

Family Fun and Entertainment (Fun Fun Fun DJ, Sundance Musical Entertainment, Annointing of the Sick (band), Windy City Thunderbolts mascot, Boomer, canine demonstrations by the Cook County Sheriff’s Office Canine Unit and the Tinley Park and Orland Park Police K-9 units and the Orland Fire Protection District fire truck display)-Noon to 3 p.m.

Food and Refreshments (free samplings from Beggars Pizza, Culver’s, Jr’s Hot Dogs, Ashford House, Winston’s Market, Starbucks, Noodles & Co., Jersey Mike’s, Turk’s Italian Beef and Sausage, Fortune In, Hienie’s McCarthy’s, Papa Joe’s, PF Chang’s, Chipotle, Ed & Joe’s Pizza, snow cones and popcorn. Pop and water is available for $1.00.)

Reptiles and exotic birds from Brookfield Zoo-12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.

“Ask-A-Trainer” Booth with certified professional dog trainer and behavior consultant, Patricia Calderone of Clicker Canine- 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Pet Contest-1 p.m.

Pet Parade with Grand Marshal, southside baseball mascot, Southpaw-2 p.m.

General admission is free; however, a donation of one five-pound bag of pet food is strongly encouraged. Monetary donations will also be accepted and all proceeds benefit the Pet Pantry.
