$1 Million Bail Set For Orland Park Man After Fatal DUI

Matthew Senica is facing a felony DUI charge after authorities said he caused a car accident Sunday morning that killed a 51-year-old Lockport woman.

Bail was set at $1 million for an Orland Park man accused of driving after a night of drinking, and causing an accident that took the life of an Advocate Christ Medical Center nurse on her way to work.

Matthew Senica, 25, of the 13700 block of 88th Avenue in Orland Park, is charged with felony aggravated driving under the influence.

Heidi Roseen, 51, was on her way to Advocate Christ Medical Center from her Lockport home, heading east on 95th Street Sunday around 6:20 a.m., according to Cook County Sheriff Spokesman Frank Bilecki.

Senica was driving back to Orland Park from what he described to police was a night of drinking in Chicago, and was heading south on LaGrange Road, and drove through the red light at the intersection with 95th Street, according to authorities.

Senica’s Ford F150 truck struck Roseen’s vehicle, and Roseen was later declared dead by fellow staff at Christ, Bilecki said.

“Preliminary analysis by our accident reconstruction team indicated that Matthew came into the intersection at well over 70 mph,” Bilecki said.

Senica has prior charges on his record, though the cases’ outcomes were not immediately available.

  • May 2006: Reckless Conduct
  • August 2007: Criminal Damage to Property
  • September 2008: Battery
  • January 2009: Domestic Battery
  • April 2009: DUI
  • April 2011: Domestic Battery

Senica was treated at Palos Community Hospital for lacerations and bruising on his hands and body, Bilecki said.

Heidi and her husband Thomas would have celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in August. She also leaves behind three children, all in their 20s.

Senica is scheduled to be back in court on July 23.

Wow, I am so sorry for the families loss. My sister almost lost her son to a drunk and drugged up 19 year old. The accident occured on 151st and Lagrange road. He broke his neck in two spots and should have been dead, but since he was not killed, there was no jail time for this kid, the video shows the accident. I think this kid should of done jail time. If you want to see the video go to VodDo.com - Ron Lugo You Tube police cam. My heart goes out to this family.

My sympathy to the family. It never ceases to amaze me that the drunk ALWAYS survives a fatal crash. Makes you wonder what GOD is thinking!

Horrible story- lady just going to work gets T-boned by a drunk and her friends and co-workers have to pronounce her dead. I want this punk off the road forever- no more second and third chance here.
