4 Charged in Alleged Shoplifting Binge: Blotter

SATURDAY, MARCH 23

Retail Theft and Marijuana Charges

Luke S. Harr, 23, of the 9800 block of Corboda Court in Orland Park, was charged with retail theft and possession of marijuana, according to a report. He is accused of taking five controllers for a Playstation 3 video game console, valued at $319.94 in total, from Sears, 2 Orland Square Dr. During his arrest at about 8:02 p.m., police reported smelling marijuana coming from his jacket. An officer found a small baggie with 2 grams of a green, leafy substance that tested positive for marijuana.

Theft Of Engagement Ring

Jose D. Aguilera, 52, of the 200 block of Maxwell Street in Crown Point, IN, was charged with theft, according to a report. He is accused of taking a $6,000 diamond engagement ring was reported stolen from an employee at Mimi’s Café, 16154 Route 45, according to a report. The employee removed the ring to wipe off excess lotion from her hands and was called away by the hostess. She returned a few minutes later to find the ring missing. While in police custody, Aguilera told officers he had fallen on hard times and had been thrown out of his apartment.

Warrant Arrest

Dillon C. Jackson, 19, of the 15700 block of Clifton Park Avenue in Markham, was arrested at about 7:15 p.m. on an outstanding Orland Park warrant for retail theft., according to a report. He was picked up from the Homewood Police Department.

THURSDAY, MARCH 21

Four Charges With Retail Theft

Four women are accused of taking almost $1,000 in clothing using a baby stroller, according to a report. Police recovered $945 worth of merchandise taken from H&M and $67 worth of items from Forever 21 at about 5:30 p.m.. Both stores are located inside the Orland Square Mall, 288 Orland Square Dr. The following people were charged:

 

  • Kendra L. Harris, 19, of the 3600 block of 84th Place in Chicago;
  • Kierra S. Taylor, 18, of the 83600 block of Dame Avenue in Chicago;
  • Siara S. Williams, 21, of the 3600 block of 84th Place in Chicago; and
  • Jasmine A. Williams, 19, of the 9200 block of Bennett Avenue in Chicago.
