Burbank Teen Carries Brass Knuckles Because He Lives In Burbank: Cops

The young man had brass knuckles in his PT Cruiser "in case he ever has to use them on someone" in Burbank police said.

A teen explained to the cops he was carrying brass knuckles in his PT Cruiser in case he had call to use them on the streets of Burbank, police said.

The young man, 19-year-old Craig Lanning of 7626 Lawler Ave., was charged with the unlawful use of a weapon and possession of cannabis. Another 19-year-old who was sitting with Lanning in his car, Steven Grogan of 4945 85th St., also was charged with possession of cannabis.

A pair of Orland Park cops on bike patrol noticed the two teens in a car parked in the mall lot and suspected the young men were smoking marijuana, police said.

The teens "admitted they were getting ready to smoke cannabis," police said, and Lanning confessed to having brass knuckles in the car.

"Craig stated that he had the brass knuckles in case he ever has to use them on anyone since he lives in Burbank," police said.
