Drunken Joliet Woman Passed Out at Orland Park Intersection Thought She Was in Channahon: Cops

The Joliet woman told an officer she had "not much" to drink, police said.

A Joliet woman found passed out behind the wheel of her car at an Orland Park intersection told the cops she thought she was in Channahon, police said.

Sarah Britz, 32, of 616 Woodlawn Ave. was actually at the corner of 143rd Street and Will Cook Road.

An officer sent to investigate a complaint of a passed out woman in a maroon Chevy Impala stopped in the intersection shook Britz by the shoulder but she only "briefly opened her eyes, looked at (him), then closed her eyes again," police said.

When the officer was able to wake Britz a second time, he asked her where she had driven from and "she advised she was coming from Channahon," police said. "She further advised she knew she was in Channahon."

The officer told Britz she was actually in Orland Park and "she appeared surprised," police said.

Britz told the officer she had "not much" to drink but "did not appear to understand that she was stopped in the roadway asleep," police said.

Britz was charged with driving under the influence.
