Elderly Palos Woman Mad at Mercedes Service Price Kicks Dealership Worker's Shin: Police

The 73-year-old woman blamed her "bad knee" for kicking the car dealership worker in the shin, according to police.

A Palos Heights woman upset at the cost of getting her Mercedes serviced at an Orland Park dealership kicked a worker in the shin, police said.

Anna Mustafa, 73, of 3304 Spyglass Circle was charged with battery in connection with the incident at Mercedes-Benz of Orland Park.

Mustafa blamed the alleged shin kick on her "bad knee," according to police.

A dealership service advisor, 47-year-old Matthew Virus, reportedly told police Mustafa and her daughter, Mysoon Hamden, 44, dropped by to have Mustafa's Mercedes serviced. Virus talked money with Hamden, police said, and she called for her mother to come into the office.

"When Anna walked in, Matthew stood up to greet her," according to a police report. "Anna immediately began arguing the price that was just quoted and demanded a better deal. When Matthew stated that this was the best deal he could offer, Anna began swearing at him and calling him derogatory names."

And it was all downhill from there, according to police.

"Matthew asked Anna to calm down and she kicked Matthew in the shin with her foot," police said. "At that time Matthew asked Anna and Mysoon to leave the dealership."

Virus showed his shin to a police officer and it "had a red mark on it which was purportedly caused by Anna's kick," according to a report. "Matthew stated that after thinking about it for a while, he wished for Anna to be arrested for battery."

A police officer reportedly telephoned Mustafa and had her come down to the station. She showed up with her daughter and gave police a different version of what supposedly went down at the dealership.

"When Mysoon called her with the price quote, she came back to the service area and believed the dealership was being disrespectful and taking advantage of her," Mustafa said, according to a police report.

"When she stated her displeasure, Matthew abruptly stood up from his desk and began yelling at Anna to leave the dealership," the report said.

Mustafa turned to leave after exchanging words with Virus, according to the report.

When pressed about the supposed shin-kick, Mustafa explained "she has a bad knee and if she kicked Matthew it was the fault of her bad knee," the report said.

She was still charged with battery.
