Fire Crews Squelch Blaze at Orland Restaurant

Orland firefighters responded Saturday afternoon to a fire at a local restaurant, where Palos Heights crews also showed to help.

Crews went to , 14459 LaGrange Road in Orland Park, after getting a call about a possible fire on the building's roof. The first responders got to the scene within about three minutes, Spokesman Ray Hanania said in an e-mailed statement Saturday afternoon.

A manager at the restaurant, who refused to give his name, said the fire "wasn't that big of a deal" and that following the incident, business resumed as usual. The restaurant will maintain its regular hours Sunday and each day following, he said.

The building was evacuated by the time firefighters arrived, Hanania wrote, and there were flames shooting from the roof.

"The fire was extinguished and extensive overhaul of the fire area was performed," Hanania said in the statement. "The restaurant was closed for several hours, and was able to partially reopen."

No one was injured in the blaze.
