No One Injured in Fire on Chapel Hill Road (Video)

A two-story home on 157th and Chapel Hill Road is left largely in tact, thanks to a swift response from the Orland Fire Department. Homeowners were out at the time of the fire.

Nobody was home when fire sparked in the kitchen of 15731 Chapel Hill Road shortly after 7:30 p.m.

says neighbors alerted the department when they noticed smoke coming out of the kitchen area. Firefighters arrived on the scene within three minutes and confirmed a fire largely contained within the kitchen.

"Our boys made an aggressive interior attack," Brucki said.

Coordinated efforts between an extinguishing team on the ground and a ventilation team above allowed firefighters to quickly and safely put out the blaze while minimalizing damage to the property, Brucki said. Within 15 minutes, the fire was contained, according to the chief. No injuries were reported.

The family's dog was home at the time of the fire, but was removed before it was injured, according to a release from the fire district.

"This is definitely a job well done," Brucki said of his men.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
