UPDATED: Most Orland Park Customers Have Power Monday Morning

Orland Park fared well during the storm, with few people reporting power outages by Monday morning and no reports of damage, according to emergency personnel.

About 20 customers in Orland Park still remain without power Monday morning, after a severe storm blew through the area on Sunday.

The Orland Park Police Department reported that any closed streets or intersections were back open as of 3 p.m. Sunday and no reports of heavy damage came in.

As of 9:15 a.m. Monday, ComEd is reporting about 20 customers without power in Orland Park, most near Wolf Road and 143rd Street. About 56 customers in Orland Hills near Byron Drive and 164th Street are without power Monday, due to a fallen tree

Orland firefighters assisted with a large power outage due to downed lines along 143rd Street between West Avenue and Wolf Road on Sunday, according to Orland Fire Chief Ken Brucki. Homes in the Orland Hills Gardens subdivision west of West Avenue between 153rd Street and 143rd Street are lost power Sunday.

"As of now, we are not seeing much damage," Brucki said in a statement sent around 2 p.m. Sunday. "We are investigating wires down, trees down and power outages on 143rd Street between Wolf and West Avenue … but we have not received any reports to the OFPD of damage to any structures."

Brucki said no nearby communities have asked for help, but Orland can lend a hand if needed.
