MONDAY, MARCH 11

Palos Hills Man Hit With DUI Charge

Jason P. Poplawsky, 31, of the 8500 block of 102nd Terrace in Palos Hills, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding, improper lane use, driving without insurance and driving without a license on his person, according to a report. He was stopped by police at about 1:59 a.m. near 14100 LaGrange Rd. for speeding and crossing the road lines. Police could smell an odor of alcohol coming from the car. Poplawsky admitted to having three drinks in an hour. He reportedly failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. He was due in Bridgeview court March 29.

Hair Pulling and Drink Throwing

Antonia M. Guajardo, 32, of the 100 block of School Street in Naperville, was charged with battery, according to a report. She was reportedly involved in an argument with another woman in Dave & Buster's, 49 Orland Square Dr. Guajardo is accused of throwing a drink in the woman’s face, pulling hair and pushing the woman. She is due in Bridgeview court on April 16.

Macy's Thefts

Nihaya Jameel Abu Ayyad, 54, of the 10500 block of Major Avenue in Chicago Ridge, and Mouyasar A. Rahim, 47, no address given, were charged with retail theft, according to a report. They are accused of taking more than $330 worth of clothing and other items from Macy’s, 1 Orland Square Dr. After the arrest, police found that Rahim had an outstanding DuPage County warrant for retail theft. They are both due in Bridgeview court April 12.
