A man who initially told police he was attacked was later accused of recklessly handling a loaded pistol and striking a person with a metal chain wrapped around his fist.

Orland Park officers were called to the 14800 block of Holly Court about a battery around 2:30 a.m. on June 19. The caller, Sean P. Sullivan, 26, of the 14800 block of Holly Court in Orland Park, said the alleged attacker was driving away from the scene.

Officers caught up with the man driving away at 144th Street and First Avenue and determined the driver was not responsible for fighting.

People who had been visiting the house on Holly Court told police Sullivan had been drinking and decided he didn’t want people at the house, according to the report. Witnesses told police Sullivan was handling a revolver in a reckless manner. An argument led to a physical fight in which Sullivan struck one of the people with a metal chain wrapped around his fist, the report said.

Officers found a chain in the dining room, and a loaded revolver with the hammer cocked was also found in the house, according to the report.
