Indiana Man Dies From Motorcycle Crash in Orland Park

The man was found unconscious Thursday night on the sidewalk near Wheeler Drive and Lowes Avenue. Police are still looking for information on the crash.

A 40-year-old man was pronounced dead after he was found unconscious on the sidewalk after a motorcycle crash.

On Thursday, the Orland Park Police Department were called about a single vehicle crash near Wheeler Drive and Lowes Avenue around 6:20 p.m., according to a release from the department.

John Nassenstein, of Schererville, Ind., was found unresponsive on the sidewalk, and was taken to Silver Cross Hospital by the Orland Fire Protection District, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police are still investigating the crash, though initial reports offer that Nassenstein was driving a 2005 Honda motorcycle east on Wheeler Drive, when he left the road at high speed and struck a tree, according to the release. Witnesses told police that before the crash Nassenstein was heard arguing with someone while in a nearby parking lot before he drove away, police said.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash at this time, and police are waiting for toxicology reports from the Will County Coroner’s Office.

Anyone with further information on the crash should contact the Orland Park Police Department at 708-349-4111.
