Lawsuit: New OFPD Trustees Misrepresented Themselves During Campaign
An Orland firefighter's lawsuit alleges Blair Rhode and Christopher Evoy falsely credited 'Orland Firefighters' during their recent campaign.
An fireman filed a complaint with the Illinois State Board of Elections this month against recently elected board members for misrepresenting computerized phone calls during their April campaign, according to a Triblocal report.
Reporter Jeff Vorva notes that Firefighter Keith Radke’s complaint alleges “a robocall was made the day before the election advocating the Fiscal Voices for Orland Candidates Chris Evoy and Blair Rhode. The robocall stated it was paid for by ‘Orland Firefighters’.”
The two Fiscal Voices for Orland candidates, who were backed by 17th District Cook County Commissioner Liz Gorman, reportedly sent a motion to dismiss the complaint last week. Gorman told Vorva, “It’s going to get tossed out. They accused Fiscal Voices of not disclosing our robocalls. We paid for all of our robocalls. We have everything documented.’’
