Man Sacked For Hack Attack: Homer Glen Man Charged With Assault on Cabbie in Orland Park

Brian Zabrodski was taken into custody at his Homer Glen residence.

A Homer Glen man was charged with stiffing a cabbie out of an $80 fare and breaking the hack's ankle when they struggled.

Brian Zabrodski, 24, of 16125 Wildwood Lane was charged with aggravated battery and theft of services in connection with the May 6 incident in Orland Park.

About 6:40 that morning, police were called to the 9800 block of Cordoba Court, where a cab driver had brought a customer.

The passenger told the driver he didn't have any money to pay his fare and ran off, police said. The driver gave chase. He caught up to the man and they struggled, but the cabbie fell and broke his ankle.

The Orland Park police put out a public request for help in identifying the fare-beater and a detective from the Lockport Police Department reportedly recognized him as Zabrodski from a prior run-in.

Zabrodski was taken into custody at his home Thursday night. He will be held pending a scheduled appearance in bond court Saturday.
