Man Uses Bogus Credit Cards to Buy Apple Products: Blotter

Bottle Of Vodka On The Run
Quayshawn L. Starks, 20, 9200 block of Hunter Drive in Orland Park, was charged with retail theft, according to a report. He is accused of stuffing a $34.97 bottle of Circo vodka into his jacket and running out of Jewel-Osco, 9350 159th Street. After police found him near a fast food restaurant, he admitted ot tossing the 750mL bottle in the grass at the nearby gas station. He is due in Bridgeview court April 12.

Car Crash in Front Yard
Kathleen M. Hensley, 49, of the 8100 block of Tripp Avenue in Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, DUI with a blood-alcohol level greater than 0.08, illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane use, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and driving without insurance, according to a report. Police were called at about 9:27 p.m to the 13500 block of Howe Drive, where they found a purple Honda Civic had driven onto a yard. The driver, Hensley, reportedly had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath and spoke with slurred speech. A witness told police Hensley had tried to free her car from being stuck and had damaged the lawn in the process. Hensley was unable to perform field sobriety test and was arrested. After a search, police found a plastic cup with vodka in the center console. She later submitted to a breath test. She is due in Bridgeview court on April 9.

Aggravated Identity Theft
Rafael Burruel, 21, no address given, was charged with aggravated identify theft, according to a report. He is accused of using a bogus MasterCard credit card to buy an iPad at the Apple Store, 428 Orland Square Dr. Witnesses told police they suspected his credit card was not genuine but allowed the purchase anyway. Burruel then tried to buy an iPhone with a different credit card and was declined. Police arrested Burruel after he left the mall. An officer contacted the bank that issued the cards and advised the card holder that his account had been compromised. Burruel was due in Bridgeview court on Feb. 14.
