Mom's Pink Stun Gun Gets Chicago Teen Arrested: Cops

The young man was arrested in Orland Park after the police pulled him over for allegedly failing to wear his seatbelt.

A Chicago teen caught with a pink stun gun in the center console of his Monte Carlo told the cops the weapon actually belonged to his mother.

Whether the stun gun was his mother's or not, the young man, 18-year-old Tyler Thomas of 11200 S. Vernon Ave., still took the fall for allegedly having it in his car.

The cops pulled Thomas over on 151st Street near Regent Drive when they noticed he wasn't wearing his seatbelt, police said. An officer reportedly smelled "burnt cannabis" in the car and Thomas told him "his mother smokes cannabis in his vehicle on occasion," police said.

The officer proceeded to search the Monte Carlo and "located a dark pink stun gun in the center console within reach of the driver," police said. "Said stun gun appeared to be fully charged and was operable."

The officer "asked Tyler why he had a stun gun in his vehicle," police said. "Tyler stated that it belongs to his mother and that she must have put it in his vehicle."

The officer arrested Thomas anyway.
