Orland Cop Catches Minooka Man Having High Time With 4-Year-Old Daughter: Police

The man and a buddy were driving around outside the Orland Square mall, smoking pot with a 4-year-old girl sleeping in the back seat, police said.

A Minooka man was caught tooling around outside the Orland Square Mall, smoking pot with a buddy while his daughter slept in the back seat of his Jeep Liberty, police said.

The man, 26-year-old Ryan Blough of 118 Heritage Drive, was charged with endangering the life or health of a child, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also hit with a LaSalle County traffic warrant and a Will County warrant charging him with failing to appear in court for a driving under the influence case.

Blough's pal, Benjamin Carrescia, 23, of 22818 Kathy Drive in Channahon, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. Blough's 4-year-old daughter was turned over to a 22-year-old woman who works at the mall. She is apparently a friend of his.

An Orland Park cop followed Blough as he drove around the mall three times, police said.

After Blough parked, the officer walked up to the open driver's side window and spotted a glass pipe full of pot balanced on Carrescia's leg, police said. The officer also reportedly noticed a yellow dish containing marijuana on the passenger seat between Carrescia's legs.

After Blough and Carrescia admitted to smoking pot, the officer noticed "there was a child in the rear passenger seat sleeping," police said. "Ryan advised that the child was his daughter and that she was 4 years old."
