Orland Man Gets 7 Years For Drunken Crash That Killed Nurse

Orland Park man Matthew Senica was hit with the seven year sentence after pleading guilty.

By Joseph Hosey

An Orland Park man pleaded guilty to killing a nurse in a drunken crash nearly a year ago and was sentenced to seven years in prison.

Matthew Senica, 26, must serve 85 percent of his sentence. He received credit for the 324 days he has served in the Cook County jail since his arrest following the July crash.

Senica was heading home from a night of drinking when he ran a red light at the intersection of LaGrange Road and 95th Street. The driver of the other car, 51-year-old Heidi Roseen of Lockport, was on her way to work the night shift as a nurse at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

Roseen was rushed to Advocate Christ Medical Center only to be pronounced dead there by her colleagues from the hospital.
