Orland Park Police Blotter: Heroin Found and Makeup Grab

THURSDAY, MAY 24

Warrant Arrest

Posen police dropped off a man wanted on an Orland Park warrant around 12:15 p.m. at the Orland Park Police Department. Eric L. Woods, 29, of the 1000 block of Gunderson Avenue in Oak Park, was arrested on a criminal damage to property warrant issued Sept. 6, 2011.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 23

Warrant Arrest

University Park police called the Orland Park Police Department about a man in custody with an Orland Park warrant, and he was picked up around 3:55 p.m. Sheryar, M. Hafeez, 23, of the 23000 block of Ridgeway Avenue in Richton Park, was arrested on a warrant for driving under the influence.

TUESDAY, MAY 22

Resisting, Found Powder

Police approached a car parked in the Marcus Theaters garage with people inside around 9 p.m. A girl in the car had blood on her palm, and the officer found an open package of hypodermic needles, as well as a torn knotted plastic baggie, police said. The girl kept pulling away from the officer while she was searched, and pulled away while she was later handcuffed, according to the report. The officer found a cut off soda can with burn marks, a lighter, needle and a small baggie with white powder that later tested positive for heroin, police said. Kelsey D. Krisik, 18, of the 17500 block of Cloverview Drive in Tinley Park, was charged with resisting a peace officer and possession of a controlled substance.

Makeover Grab

Ryan J. Coleman, 18, of the 500 block of Paxton Avenue in Calumet City, was charged with two counts of retail theft. Taylor J. Coleman, 20, of the 500 block of Paxton Avenue in Calumet City, was charged with one count of retail theft. Police were called about a retail theft at Sephora around 1:15 p.m. Security said two women were seen taking store items and placing them in their purses and left the store without paying, after getting a makeup consultation, police said. Security found 23 items from Sephora in Ryan’s purse, worth $599, as well as items from PINK, police said. Five items from Sephora were found in Taylor’s purse worth a total of $297, according to the report.  

SATURDAY, MAY 19

DUI Turn

Police pulled over a car after the driver didn’t signal while turning south on Wolf Road from 167th Street, and crossing over the center line while turning, around 12:05 a.m. The driver’s breath smelled like alcohol, she failed field sobriety tests and admitted to drinking, police said. Jill N. Burke, 33, of the 1000 block of South   Cooper in New Lenox, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level greater than .08, improper turning and failure to signal while turning.

THURSDAY, MAY 17

Warrant Arrest

Samuel A. Miller, 19, of the 15100 block of Poplar Creek Drive in Orland Park, was arrested on a warrant for battery. He turned himself into the Orland Park Police Department around 12:20 p.m.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 9

Two Warrants

Police pulled over a car for driving with a shattered windshield on 159th Street, east of Wolf Road, around 10:35 a.m. The driver did not have a valid license and was wanted on two warrants, police said. Rosendo Arana Perez, 39, of the 800 block of Hickory Street in Joliet, was arrested on a Kane County failure-to-appear warrant for domestic battery and a Will County failure-to-appear warrant for driving without a license.
