Orland Park Police Blotter: Hit-and-Runner Turns Up in Restaurant Bathroom Covered in Mud

Orland Park police reports, Dec. 13-16

FRIDAY, DEC. 16

Hit and Run

Adam D. Fiedler, 28, of the 22400 block of Aster Drive in Frankfort, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and failure to reduce speed to avoid accident. Police said Fiedler struck another car in the 14400 block of LaGrange Road and abandoned his car in a parking lot one block east. He was found approximately 90 minutes later in the Giordano’s Restaurant bathroom covered in mud, according to police. Though officers smelled alcohol on his breath, they said they decided not to follow through with a drunk driving investigation because of the time lapse since the accident, according to the report.

Retail Theft

Jasmine T. Carlock, 22, of the 9300 block of Hunter Drive in Orland Park, was charged with retail theft. Security told police that Carlock left a department store around 8:30 p.m. without paying for a package of iPhone covers, police said. Security officers recognized Carlock from another incident of fraud and refused to let her exchange an expensive-looking coat, according to police.

Retail Theft

Kaitlyn P. Bergeron, 21, of the 17500 block of 71st Avenue in Tinley Park, was charged with retail theft. Security told police that Bergeron pocketed three pairs of earrings totaling $21.50 and left a jewelry store around 8:30 p.m. without paying for them, according to the report.

Employee Retail Theft

Jessica A. Vega, 23, of the 18700 block of 5000s Road in Buckingham, was charged with retail theft. Security told police that Vega, an employee of a department store, was caught "under-ringing" her own purchases, police said. She paid $41 for $117 worth of children’s clothing, according to police.

TUESDAY, DEC. 13

Marijuana Pipe

Skyler V. Ackley, 19, of the 11600 block of Pineview Drive in Orland Park, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with expired registration. Police said they stopped Ackley’s car in the 14300 block of Crystal Tree Drive just after midnight after a random plate search revealed an expired registration. When asked about the smell of burnt marijuana, Ackley handed officers a multicolored glass pipe, according to the report. The 2012 vehicle sticker on Ackley’s car belonged to another car, police said.
