Homeless in Orland Park
Tracy R. Glenn, 36, of the 15400 block of Yorkshire Lane in Orland Park, was arrested on an Orland Park warrant for assault. A Dominick’s employee called police around 8 a.m. to say that a suspicion woman was complaining of homelessness, hunger and diabetes. took Glenn to Palos Community Hospital, where she obtained an insulin prescription, and then took her to lock-up to await a court hearing on her previous assault charges.
DUI Driveway Pileup
Michael E. Woods, 23, of the 300 block of North Street in Manhattan, was charged with DUI, improper lane usage and failure to reduce speed to avoid accident. Police said Woods veered off road and struck two parked cars in a driveway in the 15500 block of Frances Lane around 3:30 a.m. Woods and both his passengers told police that he swerved to avoid hitting another car that had entered into his lane, but they were all unable to provide police with any information regarding that car. Police described Woods’ face as “flush” with heavy eyelids, bloodshot eyes and alcohol on his breath. He failed field sobriety tests, according to the report.

'Kind of Confused'
Sheryar M. Hafeez, 22, of the 3100 block of Boise Avenue in Birmingham, AL, was charged with DUI, operating uninsured motor vehicle, no rear registration plate light and driver license not on person. Police said they stopped Hafeez’s car in the 14500 block of Jefferson Avenue around 3:30 a.m. for driving without a license plate light and making quick turns at excessive speeds. Hafeez told police he recently moved to Richton Park and was “lost and kind of confused.” Police said they smelled alcohol on his breath and noticed bloodshot eyes. He failed the field sobriety tests, according to the report.

The Stringer
Natalie G. Stringer, 23, of the 7500 block of Bertram Avenue in Hammond, Ind., was charged with retail theft. A manager at a jewelry store in Orland Square Mall told police that Stringer put a pair of $10 earrings in her bag and left the store around 6:45 p.m. without paying for them.

Almost Home Free
Andrew J. Sanidad, 25, of the 21700 block of Jennings Court in Plainfield, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said they stopped Sanidad’s car in the 10400 block of 143rd Street at 2:37 a.m. for drifting between lanes and driving 40 in a 30 mph zone. He passed field sobriety tests and was given written warnings for speeding and improper lane usage, police said. However, police found a one hitter pipe in his car, according to the report.
