Orland Park Police Blotter: Intoxicated Driver with a Child Passenger

Orland Park police reports, Feb. 2-5

TUESDAY, FEB. 5

Rollover

Police were called about a roll over accident near Corso Drive and Wolf Road around 1 a.m. A witness told police that the car was driving north on Wolf Road when it crossed over the southbound lanes and into the adjacent ditch, police said. The car continued across Corso Drive where it then rolled over, ending in the ditch north of Corso, according to the report. Police saw beer cans in the car, smelled alcohol on the driver’s breath and the driver later tested positive for drinking, police said. Samuel Temich-Cocuyo, 27, of the 9000 block of Kennedy Court in Orland Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without a valid license, driving an uninsured vehicle and improper lane use.

Straddling Median

Police were called about a one-vehicle crash in the 15700 block of Harlem Avenue around 1:10 a.m. Officers found a pickup truck straddling the center median strip on Harlem Avenue facing north, with tire tracks in the snow showing the truck came from 158th Street, police said. The driver underwent field sobriety tests, but the results weren’t listed, according to the report. Angel L. Soto, 52, of the 6000 block of Washtenaw Avenue in Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level greater than .08, improper lane use and driving in the wrong lane.

DUI with Child in Car

Police were called about a possible intoxicated driver in the 8800 block of 143rd Street around 5:10 p.m. A witness said an SUV was driving erratically and ran over the curb, police said. Police found bushes that were run over and tire tracks in the snow leading to the vehicle, according to the report. The driver’s breath smelled like alcohol, she slurred her speech and failed field sobriety tests, police said. A small child was found in the vehicle’s rear seat, according to the report. Vianey Nikolopoulos, 43, of the 8100 block of Katy Lane in Orland Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level greater than .08 and endangering the life of a child.

SATURDAY, FEB. 2

Another Median Straddle

Police were called about a car stuck straddling the median strip in the 15600 block of Harlem Avenue around 12:45 a.m. The officer found the car with all four wheels off the pavement, police said. The driver’s breath smelled like alcohol, he stumbled while exiting his car and failed field sobriety tests, according to the report. Peter V. Creevy, 62, of the 7700 block of 158th Court in Orland Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane use.
