WEDNESDAY, APRIL 11

Violation of Convict-Housing Rule

George A. Tzinares, 82, of the 9900 block of Somerset Drive in Orland Park was charged with failure to have the crime free lease addendum signed by resident. Police said they helped a state parole agent arrest a man living in an apartment building in the 9100 block of Lunar Court, which Tzinares owns, on April 3. On April 11, Tzinares told police that, although the convict had refused to sign the village’s mandatory crime free lease addendum, he had allowed the man to rent a room.

Two Men Ticketed for One Pipe

Michael J. Cancel, 26, of the 4800 block of Ivy Street in East Chicago, Ind., and Matthew A. Boroughs, 26, of the 2800 block of 43rd Street in Highland, Ind., were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said they found a pipe with residual marijuana in Cancel’s car after stopping it near 151st Street and 94th Avenue around 6 p.m. for driving with a temporary plate affixed to the rear window. Neither man claimed ownership of the pipe, so police issued two tickets.

Loose Running Dog

Antal J. Andrin, 42, of the 7700 block of Wheeler Drive in Orland Park was charged with loose running dog. Police said Andrin’s pit-bull chased but did not touch a 9-year-old girl in Veterans Park, around 6 p.m., causing her to fall down. Andrin told police the dog had escaped through the rear gate of his yard while he was mowing the lawn, according to the report. It was the third time in 2012 that Andrin has been ticketed for his dog, police said.

SATURDAY, APRIL 7

Retail Theft

Cailin M. Tverdek, 26, of the 100 block of Stephen Street in Lemont was charged with retail theft. Security at a store in the 15800 block of 94th Avenue told police that Tverdek put various items totaling $50 in her purse and walked out the doors, around 7 p.m., according to the report.

FRIDAY, APRIL 6

New Shoes Go for Test Drive

John A. Lewus, 40, of the 6100 block of 147th Street in Oak Forest was charged with felony retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Security at a store in the 15800 block of LaGrange Road said Lewus put on a new pair of Nikes and ran out of the store and into his car, police said. He was pulled over in Orland Hills, where police found a metal marijuana pipe and he was identified by store security, around 3:30 p.m., according to the report.
