MONDAY, JUNE 2

Curses

Police pulled over a car for making a wide turn and crossing over the center line on Orlan Brook Drive, south of 151st Street around 10:45 p.m. The driver’s speech was slurred, her breath smelled like alcohol and she said a cut nerve gave her the slurred speech, police said. Once in custody, she yelled and cursed at officers all the way back to the station, police said. Once there, officers, found that she her driving privileges were revoked, according to the report. Carol C. Crotty, 51, of the 8600 block of Shagbark Court in Orland Park, was charged with aggravated driving under the influence, driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, improper turning and improper lane use.

DUI/Pipes

Police pulled over a truck for speeding, crossing over lane lines and nearly hitting other cars near 131st Street and LaGrange Road, around 12:25 a.m. The driver’s breath smelled like alcohol and he failed field sobriety tests, according to the report. The officer found two pipes in the truck with marijuana residue on them, police said.

Frederick T. Aguinaga, 29, of the 5200 block of 88th Street in Oak Lawn, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, improper lane use, and following too closely.

SATURDAY, MAY 26

Polo Window

Police were called to Hollister about a retail theft around 2:30 p.m. Security said a man was seen placing four polo shirts near an open display window, before leaving the store, and reaching in the window to take the shirts without paying, police said. The shirts cost $118, according to the report. Francois D. Henderson, 22, of the 15300 block of Dante Avenue in Dolton, was charged with retail theft.

THURSDAY, MAY 24

Marijuana Bags

Police pulled over a car for driving 38 mph in a 20 mph zone in the 15300 block of Catalina Drive around 7:55 p.m. The driver’s eyes appeared glassy, though the driver said he was tired when asked about them, police said. During a search, police found four baggies with marijuana in them, totaling about 12.6 grams, according to the report. Amer S. Mustafa, 25, of the 7400 block of Sycamore Court in Orland Park, was charged with possession of marijuana and speeding.

DUI/Domestic Battery

Police pulled over a white van after seeing it drive over a curb, before crossing a lane line and almost hitting an oncoming car, near 151st Street and Primrose Lane, around 9:20 p.m. The driver’s lip was bleeding and he said the female passenger had struck him, police said. His breath smelled like alcohol, he admitted to drinking and the passenger admitted to hitting him, police said. The driver failed field sobriety tests, and police found an open bottle of wine in the car, according to the report. While en route to the police station, the man hit his head against the squad car’s window and later accused the officer of striking him, police said. Jesse R. Arellano, 33, of the 1200 block of Scoville Avenue in Berwyn, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use and illegal transportation of alcohol. Beatriz L. Magallon-Ayala, 30 of the 1200 block of Scoville Avenue in Berwyn, was charged with domestic battery.

WEDNESDAY, MAY 2

False Return

Police were called about a theft at JCPenney around 7:45 p.m. Security said two staff members with access to cash registers participated in a theft where one made a fake return refund for the other for $246.07, police said. Both admitted they had participated in other false transactions, but did not specify the amount of money lost, police said. Chante T. Porcaro, 31, of the 16300 block of Oxford Drive in Tinley Park was charged with theft under $300.
