Orland Park Police Blotter: Mailboxes Glued Shut and Retail Thefts

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 6

Warrant Arrest

Police were called about a man held on an Orland Park warrant at the Cook County Juvenile Detention Center around 11:30 a.m. Kenneth Q. Scott, 18, of the 7200 block of Vernon in Chicago, was arrested on a warrant for theft.

That’s Just Rude

Police were called about a criminal damage incident around 3:30 a.m. at a residence on Catalina Drive. The caller said he went to get his mail, and found his mailbox had been glued shut. Someone had sprayed glue all over the box, police said. The caller said another neighbor on his block found their mailbox in a similar state, according to the report. The gluing happened between midnight and 3:30 a.m., police said.

Two Times’ a Charm

Police were called about a retail theft at Macy’s around 3:40 p.m. Security said a woman was seen taking merchandise into a dressing room, walking out with her purse looking more full than when she entered and left the store without making a purchase, police said. The woman went to her car and then returned to the store, where she took more items into a dressing room, but paid for two items before leaving the store, according to the report. The total value for the items taken is $506, police said. Linda Wong, 53, of the 8500 block of Cressmoor Court in Orland Park, was charged with felony retail theft, after police found other retail thefts on her record.

SATURDAY, MAY 26

Purse Stuffing

Police were called about a retail theft at Gilly Hicks around 1 p.m. Security said a woman was seen placing store items into her purse and then left the store without paying, according to the report. The items are worth $170, police said.

Naisha L. Killion, 21, of the 6700 block of South Marshfield in Chicago, was charged with retail theft.
