TUESDAY, JULY 3

Three-Peat

Police pulled over a car for driving 50 mph in a 40 mph zone in the 9500 block of 159th Street around 11:35 p.m. The driver told police he had no prior citations or charges against him when he was asked about any history, police said. While checking the driver’s license, an officer found two past citations for possession of marijuana and a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the report. An officer then released the K9, who was drawn to a boot in the trunk, and a plastic Ziploc sandwich bag with marijuana in it was found, according to the report. Scott J. Finlay, 20, of the 17500 block of Brook Hill Drive in Orland Park, was charged with possession of marijuana and speeding.

Parrotheads

Police pulled over an SUV for driving without headlights on in the 14400 block of Harlem Avenue around midnight. The driver and passenger were wearing Hawaiian print clothing, and when asked if they came from the Jimmy Buffet concert in Tinley Park, the driver said yes, police said. The driver’s breath smelled like alcohol and he failed field sobriety tests, according to the report. David C. Enderle, 36, of the 200 block of Maple Avenue in Oak Park was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

Balance Act

Police were called about an intoxicated man who drove away from his home in a black Saturn around 5:30 p.m. Police were told he might head to Barraco’s, 18040 Wolf Road, and officers found a vehicle matching the description in the adjacent parking lot near the restaurant, and found the man leaning against the vehicle, police said. The man showed trouble with balance and he failed field sobriety tests, according to the report. William M. Atzhorn, 61, of the 17300 block of Brook Crossing Lane in Orland Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and illegal squealing of tires.

Warrant Arrest

Police were called about a woman wanted on an Orland Park woman in Villa Park Police’s custody around 9:45 p.m. Veronica Alvarez, 23, of the 300 block of Stratford Place in Bloomingdale, was arrested on an Orland Park warrant for retail theft and an Illinois State Police warrant for driving with a suspended license.
