Orland Park Police Blotter: Selling Alcohol to Minors and Jumping on a Back

MONDAY, JULY 23
Walking Headphones
Police were called about a retail theft at the Apple Store around 1:20 p.m. Security said a man was seen placing a set of headphones inside a bag, before returning other merchandise and leaving the store without paying for the headphones, police said. Kenneth L. Hunt, 41, of the 1300 block of Bruck Street in Columbus, Ohio, was charged with retail theft.

Domestic Battery
Police were called to Centennial Pool about a two women fighting in the parking lot around 7 p.m. Two women were arguing when one pushed the other, police said. The pushed woman then walked away to leave the pool area, while the other followed her, punched at her and jumped on her back with her arm around the woman’s neck, police said. Witnesses confirmed what happened, including pool staff, police said. Violet M. Kirner, 20, of the 2600 block of Ridgeland Avenue in Berwyn, was charged with domestic battery.
Damage Return Trip
Police were called about possible damage to property in the 9200 block of Whitehall Lane around 6:25 p.m. Two women were arguing when one started throwing items in the room, breaking some of them, police said. The value of the broken items is $299, police said. About two-and-a-half hours later, officers found the woman at the same location, and she was pounding on the front door, according to the report. Shanna C. Daniels, 34, of the 12600 block of Mason Avenue in Alsip, was charged with criminal damage to property.

Alcohol Sale Violations
Orland Park police officers conducted an alcohol enforcement check on all businesses with current Orland Park liquor licenses starting around 4 p.m. Of the 46 businesses checked, Aldi, WooW, Granite City, Red Lobster, Red Robin, Ichiro, Pompei and Outback sold alcohol to minors and staff members were each cited with sale of alcohol to a minor.
