Whose Bike Is It?

Myron J. Wiggins, 36, of the 17600 block of Balmoral Lane in Hazel Crest, was charged with disobeyed stop sign, improper display of license plates, improper use of registration and driving on a suspended license. Police said they stopped Wiggins’ motorcycle near 70th Court and Wheeler Drive at 7:42 a.m. for blowing a stop sign and for displaying the bike’s license in front of the rear tire. Police said they ran the bike's license and vin number through its system and learned that the bike had been stolen almost two years ago. Wiggins told police that the bike belonged to a relative and that he was merely driving it from his relative’s house in Harvey to a mechanic in Orland Park. Police said they were unable to get a hold of that relative, and an assistant state's attorney denied possession of stolen vehicle charges against Wiggins.

He was also arrested, however, on a Cook County Sheriff's Police warrant for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and a Markham Police warrant for improper lane usage.

Police said they began tailing Buechele’s car around 4 a.m. after it made an abrupt lane change and turn from 153rd Street onto West Avenue. Police stopped the car in the 15300 block of Huntington Court a few minutes later, after it made two successive right hand turns, heading back to the area it had came, according to the report. Buechele’s eyes were described as “blood shot and glassy” and police said he slurred his words. He failed field sobriety tests, police said.

Shannon L. Garcia, 40, of the 100 block of Minton Road in Joliet, was charged with retail theft. Three of her children were present during the incident, according to the report.

Felony Retail Theft

Shakeita T. Johnson, 25, of the 8900 block of Brandon Avenue in Chicago, was charged with felony retail theft and criminal trespass to land. Orland Square Mall security told police that Johnson left the store without paying for several items around 1:45 p.m. and then took off running. When police officers caught up to Johnson they found more than $200 worth of clothing without receipt in her bag, according to the report. They also found several items of makeup, which Johnson said she was planning to return but for which she also couldn’t find a receipt. The same department store told police that Johnson had returned $1,200 worth of makeup the day prior.
