Orland Park police reports, March 10-18

SUNDAY, MARCH 18

Possession of Marijuana

Police saw two men acting suspiciously in a parking lot within Centennial Park around 3:30 p.m. One of the men, who was driving a car, was recognized by an officer from past encounters involving drugs, police said. The driver stepped out of the car and consented to a search, after an officer said he smelled marijuana, according to the report. A small bag of marijuana was found in the man’s pocket, and police later found another small bag in his car, as well as a pipe, police said. Nothing illegal was found on the other man, according to the report. Michael H. Wolf, 20, of the 400 block of 45th Place in Chicago, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Texting While Driving Under the Influence

Police pulled over a black car after watching it speed away from a parked maroon vehicle with a damaged front end in the 8600 block of 142nd Street around 2 a.m. The black car was leaving a trail of liquid, squealed its tires while driving away and was dragging the undercarriage, causing sparks, police said. The driver’s breath smelled like alcohol, he admitted to drinking and he admitted to texting while driving, which led to the accident, according to the report. Timothy J. Fox, 24, of the 12600 block of Wisteria Court in Palos Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to signal, illegal squealing of tires and failure to provide information after an accident.

Warrant Arrest

Kara C. Piotrowksi, 22, of the 2700 block of 100th Street in Chicago, was arrested on a warrant for retail theft. She turned herself in to the around 3:45 p.m.

THURSDAY, MARCH 15

Warrant Arrest

David J. Toczek, 37, of the 27000 block of Southland Drive in Splendora, Texas, was arrested on a warrant for retail theft. He turned himself in to the around 5:40 a.m.

SATURDAY, MARCH 10

Warrant Arrest

Police pulled over a vehicle for driving with obstructed registration and front windows, as well as unsafe tires, around 12:30 a.m. near Buckingham Drive and Fountain Hill Drive. Two active warrants were found for the driver, police said. Michael Brown, 26, of the 15100 block of South Wabash Street in South Holland, was charged with driving with a suspended license, improper display of license plates, driving with an obstructed windshield, and was arrested on an unspecified Oak Forest warrant and an unspecified Cook County Sheriff’s warrant.
