Doggone Register

Police were called about an employee theft incident at Fetch Dog Boutique around 2:30 p.m. The store owner told police that he had videoed an employee while he took money out of the cash register, according to the report. The owner said the employee was hired to wash dogs, and has no reason to be anywhere near the register, according to the report. The video showed the employee crouching near the register, opening it, grabbing several bills, closing it and walking away, police said. The employee admitted to taking the money, and what he turned over matched what the owner said he left in the register, police said. Kyle M. Howard, 24, of the 12800 block of Pebble Drive in Palos Park, was charged with theft.

Police were called about a retail theft at Icing around 4:55 p.m. An employee saw a woman taking several bracelets and earrings, and concealing them under a scarf in her hand, before leaving the store without paying for the items, police said.  At the time, the woman was carrying bags with items from three other stores, according to the report. The items’ value was not listed in the report. Inela Ahmetspahic, 26, of the 1900 block of Crescent Drive in Mokena, was charged with retail theft and three counts of possession of stolen merchandise.

SATURDAY, DEC. 24

Strolling Jeans

Police were called about a retail theft at Sears, 2 Orland Square Drive, around 3:10 p.m. Security said a woman placed a pair of jeans in an empty stroller she was pushing, and left the store without paying, according to the report. The jeans are worth $60. Armela Paja, 25, of the 10500 block of Brooks Lane in Chicago Ridge, was cited with retail theft.

Domestic Battery

Police were called about a domestic dispute in the 15300 block of Treetop Drive around 5:05 p.m. A woman said a man had struck her in the face while they argued, according to the report. A fresh cut was found on the woman’s lip, police said. Mohammed S. Abukhamireh, 36, of the 15300 block of Treetop Drive in Orland Park, was charged with domestic battery.
