THURSDAY, MARCH 22

Tag Take Off

Police were called about a retail theft at The Icing around 8 p.m. A woman was seen taking the tags off of two pairs of earrings and placing them and a bracelet into a bag she was carrying, police said. She then left the store without paying for items worth $40.88, according to the report. Amber M. Abbott, 20, of the 1000 block of Nevada Street in Glenwood, was charged with retail theft.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 21

Warrant Arrest

Police checked registration on a car and found the owner was wanted on a warrant around 7:15 p.m. while in the 16300 block of 94th Avenue.  Janet L. Tiedeman, 26, of the 2900 block of Flanigan Drive in Lansing, was arrested on a failure-to-appear warrant for driving with a suspended license.

Marijuana Bag and Jar

Police pulled over a car for speeding and driving with a cracked window in the 15400 block of Orlan Brook Drive around 8:50 p.m. The officer found that the driver’s license was revoked and smelled marijuana inside the car, and later found a bag and jar of marijuana with 34.9 grams total of the substance, according to the report. Gregory J. Trusiak, 39, of the 8600 block of Lexington Circle in Orland Park, was charged with possession of marijuana over 30 grams, driving with a revoked license and driving with a defective windshield.

TUESDAY, MARCH 20

Domestic Battery and Arrest

Police were called about a fight between two people at Orland Square Mall around 7:05 p.m. The officer found a man yelling curses at a mall security officer and a witness, according to the report. Two witnesses stated that the man was seen grabbing a woman by the neck and holding her down onto a glass countertop, police said. The woman said the same as the witnesses, and also said she broke free from the hold and struck him in the face, police said. Officers saw red marks on the woman’s neck and scratches on her upper chest and arms, consistent with her statement and the witnesses’ recaps, according to the report. An active warrant was also found for the man. Guy L. Woodridge, 22, of the 13600 block of Central Park Avenue, was charged with disorderly conduct and domestic battery, and was arrested on a San Francisco warrant for burglary.

MONDAY, MARCH 19

Bag Swap

Police were called about a woman held for retail theft at Carson Pirie Scott around 7:45 p.m. The woman was seen placing children’s clothing into a grey tote bag she was carrying, and went into a dressing room, according to the report. She then left the room carrying a Carson shopping bag that appeared to be full, along with the grey tote, and left the store without paying, police said. She was found with $220.75 worth of merchandise, as well as some items from a different store, police said. Alie Najami, 53, of the 14400 block of Jefferson Avenue, was charged with retail theft.
