WEDNESDAY, OCT. 26

Layers

Police were called about a retail theft at Carson’s in Orland Square Mall around 4:40 p.m. Security saw a man take two packages of undershirts into a dressing room, and then put them back on the display after he exited, according to the report. One of the packages was empty, and the man was found wearing three shirts under his own shirt, police said. Joshua L. Freeman, 18, of the 13000 block of Champlain Drive in Chicago, was cited with retail theft.

Sweater Bag

Police were called about a retail theft at Express in Orland Square Mall around 1:30 p.m. Store staff said a man was seen putting two sweaters into a shopping bag he was carrying, and leaving the store without paying, police said. Mahmoud Z. Hamad, 18, of the 13100 block of Pin Oak Drive in Homer Glen, was charged with retail theft.

Hidden Makeup

Police were called about a retail theft at Sears in Orland Square Mall around 4:50 p.m. Security said a woman was seen taking a mascara box and placing it into a compartment on a stroller she was pushing, police said. The woman then left the store without paying for the item, according to the report. Martina Labbe, 28, of the 8500 block of Sawyer Court in Joliet, was cited with retail theft.

MONDAY, OCT. 24

Round Two

Police were called about a man in front of the house of a woman who has an order of protection against him in the 10000 block of 151st Street around 6:20 p.m. The man had called her numerous times and sent insulting texts in relation to the order of protection, police said. The man was served the order a few hours prior during a traffic stop where he was cited for driving on an expired license, police said. Wayne C. Deutsch, 31, of the 10000 block of 151st Street in Orland Park, was charged with violating an order of protection.

Road Soda

Police pulled over a car for speeding on Huntington Drive near 151st Street around 7:35 p.m. The driver smelled like alcohol and failed field sobriety tests, police said. Police found an open beer bottle in the car next to a cup with beer, according to the report. Jamie L. Biggins, 33, of the 100 block of Birch Court in Manteno, was charged with driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol content greater than .08, speeding and illegal transportation of alcohol.

FRIDAY, OCT. 21

Hide and Seek

Police were called to a hit and run car accident in the 15900 block of Wolf Road around 6:40 p.m. A woman said a man crashed into her rear bumper, drove away and parked in a nearby lot, police said. The man fled the area after he was told he crashed into the other car, police said. He was later found hiding under a parked car, and smelled like alcohol, according to the report. Marcus J. Tsilimos, 31, of the 1300 block of North Artesian Avenue in Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and failure to give information.
