Orland Park Police Blotter: Two Orders of Protection Violated

Orland Park police reports, Sept. 19-22

THURSDAY, SEPT. 22

Possession of K2

Justin S. Slee, 24, of the 15600 block of Centennial Court in Orland Park, was charged with possession of cannabis, improper lane usage, no valid driver’s license, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Police said they stopped Slee’s car at West Avenue and Ravinia Avenue around 4:30 a.m. for swerving and found a container of K2, a form of synthetic marijuana, in his pocket.

Possession of Cannabis

Brittany N. Simpson, 18, of the 7500 block of Halesia Court in Orland Park, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. In the same incident, Steven M. Rachanski, 19, of the 16800 block of Rainbow Circle in Orland Park, was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said they were patrolling Halesia Court around 1 a.m. when they saw Simpson leaning into a car window. Based on previous experience with Simpson, officers approached to talk to her and “smelled a slight odor of cannabis,” according to the report. Police said they found a pipe in Simpson’s purse and a pipe and small amount of marijuana in Rachanski’s car.

Order of Protection Violated

Rafal Szczepanik, 23, of the 6200 block of Massasoit Avenue in Chicago, was charged with violation of order of protection. Police said Szczepanik tried entering an apartment building in the 9000 block of Orland Court to visit several people he’s banned from coming into contact with.

If the Hoodie Fits...

Antoine L. Reese, 18, of the 17600 block of Oakwood Drive in Hazel Crest, was charged with retail theft. Orland Square Mall security told police that a man took a hoodie off a display rack, put it on, and left the store around 4 p.m. He was stopped outside the doors and arrested, according to the report.

Order of Protection Violated

Paulino Trejo, 41, of the 9100 block Kennedy Court in Orland Park, was charged with violation of order of protection for entering his apartment around 6:45 p.m. against a judge’s order, police said. Two days prior, Trejo was arrested and charged with domestic battery for punching a man in the face inside his home after the two fought over the gas bill, police said.

Assault After Basketball

Yazen Mustafa, 18, of the 17000 block of Meadowcrest Drive in Homer Glen, was charged with assault. Police said Mustafa threatened a man verbally, adding gestures of a slit-throat, at Lifetime Fitness around 12:30 a.m.

TUESDAY, SEPT. 20

Felony Retail Theft

Terrence Harris, 40, of the 14300 block of Wallace Avenue in Harvey, and Kisla L. Nelson, 37, of the 15100 block of Woodlawn Avenue in Dolton, were charged with felony retail theft. Orland Square Mall security told police that a man and woman tore tags off $1,363 worth of shoes and clothing, and stuffed the goods into several backpacks around 4:30 p.m.

140th St. DUI

Rosalie A. White, 47, of the 10800 block of Grandview Drive in Palos Park, was charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage. Police said they stopped White’s car in the 8200 block of 140th Street around 11 p.m. for weaving.

MONDAY, SEPT. 19

Retail Theft

Ramiro J. Carreno, 37, of Chicago, was charged with retail theft. Orland Square Mall security told police that a man tried returning a coat without a receipt at multiple cashiers until one finally took it around 2:15 p.m. Less than an hour later, the same man was seen on camera walking out of the mall without paying for a sweatshirt valued at $165, police said. According to the report, Carreno’s car was towed from its parking spot and impounded “in accordance with our department policy...”
