Orland Park Police Blotter: Woman Breaks Glass Door With Patio Table

Orland Park police reports: April 14-23

MONDAY, APRIL 23

Domestic Battery

Police were called about a domestic dispute around 3:10 p.m. in the 9100 block of Kennedy Court. A woman said a man had grabbed her by the head and shook her, before pushing her into a brick wall while they argued, police said. Officers found an abrasion on the woman’s shoulder consistent with where she said she hit the wall, according to the report. The man’s vehicle was found in Orland Hills shortly after, police said. Jarvis T. Wallace, 19, of the 9100 block of Kennedy Court in Orland Park, was charged with domestic battery.

Warrant Arrest

Police were called about a woman with an active Orland Park warrant held by Sauk Village police around 10:25 a.m. Shantelle Mack, 37, of the 1600 block of 215th Place in Sauk Village, was arrested on a failure-to-appear warrant for retail theft.

SUNDAY, APRIL 22

Table Toss

Police were called about a domestic dispute in the 7200 block of 157th Street around 7:45 p.m. A woman was screaming profanities at a boy and a man, according to the report. The woman was left on the residence’s balcony, where she picked up a patio table and threw it into the glass door, shattering it, according to the report. Karin A. Straub, 49, of the 7200 block of 157th Street in Orland Park, was charged with disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.

Warrant Arrest

Police were called about a woman held by Shorewood police on an Orland Park warrant around 3:15 p.m. Tierra J. Thompson-Smith, 22, of the 1200 block of Rockrun Drive in Joliet, was arrested on a failure-to-appear warrant for retail theft.

SATURDAY, APRIL 21

Retail Theft

Police were called to Sears in Orland Square Mall about a retail theft around 6:15 p.m. Security said a woman was seen placing makeup into her purse and then leaving the store without paying, according to the report. The items are worth $55, police said. Janel L. Little, 18, of the 2700 block of 83rd Street in Chicago, was charged with retail theft.

SUNDAY, APRIL 15

Charging

Police were called about a dispute in the 15600 block of 94th Avenue around 1:45 a.m. Dispatch told the officer that a woman who called was in the parking lot in a red Dodge Charger and she sounded intoxicated, according to the report. Police found the Charger, the driver’s breath smelled like alcohol and she slurred her speech, police said. She later failed field sobriety tests, police said. Tamika L. Berry, 34, of the 17200 block of 71st Court in Tinley Park, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.

SATURDAY, APRIL 14

Parked Running

Police saw a passenger in a parked car duck as he passed in the 15800 block of Wolf Road around 2:35 a.m. The car’s engine was running and the driver said they were waiting for friends, police said. Police saw opened bottles of wine coolers in the car, according to the report. The driver’s breath smelled like alcohol, she slurred her speech and she failed field sobriety tests, police said. Victoria R. Hale, 24, of the 3700 block of West 79th Street in Chicago, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level greater than .08 and driving with a suspended license.
