Police Blotter: DUI Accident Sends Three To Hospital

Orland Park police reports, Jan. 27 - Feb. 1

TUESDAY, FEB. 1

Canadian Reserve

Terrence P. McCabe, 46, of the 6900 block of 96th Street in Oak Lawn, was charged with driving under the influence.

Police said they found McCabe knocking on the door of a home in the 8200 block of Mullbank Drive around 3:45 a.m. Though he wasn’t driving in that moment, police found car keys in McCabe’s pocket, according to the report.

A bottle of Canadian Reserve Whiskey was confiscated and put into evidence, police said.

MONDAY, JAN. 31

DVD Deprivation

Joseph A. Martire, 51, of the 7100 block of 107th Street in Worth, was charged with retail theft. Security at a store in the 15800 block of 94th Avenue told police that Martire pocketed two DVDs after taking them out of their packages around 6:15 p.m.

Improper Display

Arnef Garcia, 20, of first block of Sorel Lane in Lemont, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and improper display of a license plate. Police said they stopped Garcia’s car in the 15300 block of Wolf Road around 4 p.m. and found two pipes and 7.5 grams of marijuana.

A passenger, Jeremiah J. Cermak, 20, of the 3000 block of Beller Drive in Darien, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

SUNDAY, JAN. 30

Nap Time

Noelle M. Procaccio, 21, of the 8900 block of Oxford Street in Woodridge, was charged with DUI and improper parking on roadway. Police said they found Procaccio asleep in her car parked with the engine running in the intersection of 92nd Avenue and 138th Street around 12:15 a.m.

FRIDAY, JAN. 28

Nap Time II

Heriberto Aguilar, 30, of the 15300 block of James Drive in Oak Forest, was charged with DUI, unlawful parking and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Police said they found Aguilar asleep in his car with the engine running, blocking two private driveways in the 8800 block of Clearview Drive around 6:30 a.m.

Minor Consumption

Michael T. Ramsay, 19, of the 2100 block of Arthurs Pass in New Lenox, was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol. Security at Arctic Ice Arena told police that Ramsay took a swing at one of the hockey players around 9 p.m. He was transported to Palos Community Hospital because of his high level of intoxication, according to the report.

Domestic Battery

Louis G. Kollias, 44, of the 7400 block of Ponderosa Court in Orland Park, was charged with domestic battery. Police said Kollias struck a woman in the face with his elbow in his home around 11:45 p.m. and then ripped jewelry from her ear.

THURSDAY, JAN. 27

La Grange Road Accident

Daniel J. Ryan, 18, of the 21400 block of Covey Court in New Lenox, was charged with DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid accident, driving in the wrong lane, disobeying traffic control light and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

Police said Ryan was driving west on 151st Street around 10:30 p.m. when his truck crossed lanes, drove over a sidewalk, struck a fire hydrant and then hit the passenger side of another car on La Grange Road. According to the report, he had difficulty speaking and standing, but mustered a dance during the field sobriety tests. Police said they found several bottles of prescription pills in his car.

Orland Fire Protection District paramedics t0ok Ryan and two individuals to Palos Hospital for inspection, police said. One of those individuals was later taken to Rush University Medical Center for a fractured neck, according to the report.

Police said the car Ryan struck spun around 360 degrees.
